Squidley didley
Brighton has become a popular venue for the squid hunters. Two main season come in the year, the first a breading run tends to begin in March and run through into May depending on conditions. The second run is usually in the Autumn beginning as early as late September and can run into November. While squid can be caught around the clock the early run sees many a good daytime catch while the Autumn run has the better catches after dark.
Squid competition :- Pioneered by local Angler Robin Howard to highlight the varied types of fishing locally, the squid competition has become a yearly event now passed into the hands of a local anglers groupL.I.S.A (see page info), who now hold the yearly squid competition with funds being raised for the RNLI
