yup, did anyone spot yesterdays mistake ? tbh it wasnt really a mistake, more an error or lack of update being as I had posted no night fishing and late afternoon mark decided too open up and I hadnt updated the info yesterday afternoon.
The decision too open was based on info that the night before had seen loads of activity from horse mackerel and was a fair chance of a repeat. Did they return ? no idea I guess I will find out today.

On Monday Mark posted that there were mackerel being caught on the wall as well as bream during the mid morning high tide. What sort of amount isnt clear too me but when I was down yesterday morning til 1.30 there were some mackerel and bream being caught on the west. I did make a quick visit too the east then but there were few anglers and most were below bay 29 and was hard too judge if anything other than spiders were being caught. I hopefully should catch up with Mark today sometime and get a clearer picture of how yesterday went.

Spidercrabs are still abundant on the walls as are the prawns along the east shoreline for those looking for some free too collect bait but please remember, spider crabs have a minimum size of 12cm across the shell and you are allowed too collect 20 per person a day/session, also please be aware the fisheries people are regular visitors on the walls and expect the wardens too inform those collecting crabs of the requirements so please, when a warden , or if a warden chats too you about sizes they are there too do a job and its not about giving anyone a hard time or being petty as some have put it on occasion. The last thing anyone want is problems with the fisheries over a few spider crabs. There are plenty out there of sensible size so please, help us help you, if a warden stops by and mentions the sizes that the crabs should be its what we are expected too do and it is actually for the benefit of those collecting undersized items 🙂
